Claris RD-R2000 is Shimano's road 8 speed rear derailleur. This derailleur is compatible with 8 speed mountain shifters from Shimano as well. Claris RD-R2000 is an affordable and quality rear derailleur with all the performance and functionality you've come to expect from Shimano. We recommend the GS (medium cage,) derailleur for all 3x (triple) front chainring setups (as well as 2x setups that require a 34 teeth maximum cog.) We recommend SS (short cage) for all 2x chainring drivetrains with a maximum required rear cog of 32 teeth, though a GS derailleur will also work just fine.
