Surly Disc Trucker Complete Bike, Grandpa's Khakis

Surly’s fun-riding, drop-bar Disc Trucker is back. Packed with practical features and still coming in at an affordable price point. If you’re on the lookout for a dependable road tourer or daily commuter that can also handle the occasional stretch of light gravel, the Disc Trucker is an easy pick!

Compared to earlier versions, the biggest updates are in the geometry. The frame now has a slightly sloping top tube to improve stand-over height, while shorter chainstays make the bike stiffer and more responsive when cornering. The updated stack height also puts the rider in a more upright, relaxed position. Paired with Surly’s Truck Stop Bar, (a drop bar with a bunch of rise!), the new Disc Trucker is built for cozy comfort on long days in the saddle.

In classic Surly fashion, the Disc Trucker is loaded with useful mounting points for racks, fenders, and all your touring or commuting gear. It comes specced with Surly's tubeless ExtraTerrestrial tires. Clearance is generous, allowing for a 26" x 2.1" tire setup with or without fenders, or a 700c x 47mm pairing with or without fenders. Please note that the completes below come with a different tire pairing based on the size of the frame. The 42–54 cm frames come with 26" wheels, while 56–64 cm frames roll on 700c x 41's.

The drivetrain is a 2x10 Shimano CUES setup, known for its durability and long service life. Shimano claims it can last up to three times longer than the 3x9 systems found on older versions of the Disc Truckers. Lastly, as the name suggests, the bike is equipped with flat mount hydraulic disc brakes, giving you confident stopping power for loaded descents, wet commutes, and whatever hills come your way.
